Please read this before you start. It explains what this survey is and how your answers are handled.
Who is running this survey?
This survey is run by Nicole Terc Vega and Matthias Geisler . We decide how your answers are used and we are responsible for protecting them. If you have any questions, you can email us at ai.survey{at}gmail.com.
What is it about?
This survey looks at how people feel about being part of online and offline tech communities, and how that has changed over time. The answers will be used for our community research and may be presented during the keynote of next.app DevCon(https://www.nextappcon.com/) and follow up conferences. We also intend to publish any findings in other places.
What do we ask about?
We ask a few general things about you (like your gender, age group, region, and what you do in tech), how you take part in tech communities, and what you think about AI. We only ask for broad categories. We never ask for your name, your email, or anything else that would directly identify you.
Is it anonymous?
Yes. Your answers are anonymous. We do not record your IP address, and we do not store anything that could be used to identify you or connect your answers to you. Once you send your answers, we cannot tell which ones were yours.
Do you have to take part?
No, it's completely up to you. You can stop at any time by closing the page. Nothing bad happens if you decide not to take part.
Why are we allowed to use your answers?
We use your answers only because you agree to it (this is called consent, under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You give that agreement by ticking the box before the survey starts.
Where are the answers kept, and for how long?
Your anonymous answers can only be seen by us. Only overall results, not individual answers, may be shared. The survey runs on LimeSurvey Cloud, a service by LimeSurvey GmbH in Germany, and the data is stored on servers in Germany. LimeSurvey GmbH only handles the data on my behalf, under a formal agreement (a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR). The answers will be kept up to 4 years for futher inquery and after that the date will be deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to ask about your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to limit how it's used, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because this survey is anonymous, we can't find your individual answers afterwards to change or delete them. If you have any questions, just email me at ai.survey{at}gmail.com.
